And we are back for a final social run in 2021!
A fantastic turn out on this glorious Suva morning for Suva Marathon Club Saturday Social Run. Congratulations to all those who took part! Running is the easiest and best form of exercise. Route was along the seawall same as always along the Suva seawall boardwalk to the 2500m mark and the Maritime School and back!

Bit of a switch to your schedule this week as you focus on the run end of the week… Change your social calendar and baby sitting arrangements to keep Monday and Wednesday some time to run 🙂
We are now looking down to a coutdown in DAYS 🙂 This week you start to slow down and let your body recover and gain strength. Try to keep slow and steady and avoid any muscle pulls or strains at ALL costs!
Now that you have your pace sorted out and you KNOW you can run the long haul 🙂 we will change to building some strength and speed with a power training mid week.
This week you stretch to your LONGEST run before running the real race on 22nd July 2017 with a 1hr 45mins easy running on Saturday! Start early morning after some breakfast, and feel free to take regular walk break if you need to, just “keep on swimming, er moving !“
This week we hope you are now getting a comfortable rhythm and cadence and “in the groove” so now we stretch that time out and start to train for some speed and power as well.
I’ve been asked a couple of times for this recently, so here’s link to our “run 3 times a week” Half Marathon Training Program #suvamarathonclub https://www.suvamarathon.org/category/training/half-marathon-training-program/
